Small wind is tough with small low energy generators that need to spin at very high RPMs to deliver any power. The nameplate power designation is usually the power generated at 24 or more miles per hour (which in fact very rarely occurs in most places) and that nameplate power doesn’t tell anything about how much power is produced at common wind speeds of 10-15 mph.
At Primo we have focused on making power available in that common wind speed range. We have a patented blade and rotor designed combined with modified generators to deliver power starting as low as 5 or 6 MPH. Then we continue to deliver power through a full wind range and at speeds of 600 RPMs and less.
